Are you interested in a short- or long-term mission trip to Japan?

“During the night Paul had a vision of a man of Macedonia standing and begging him, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.” — Acts 16:9

The Need

Japan is a very modern and developed country with a long history and also having great influence in the world. Yet, less than 1% of Japanese are Christians of any kind. Japan is the second largest unreached people group in the world.

Although Japan opened its doors to missionaries over 160 years ago, the church is still small and in need of help. Japan still has a great need for the Gospel and still has a great need for missionaries.

Recently, the church in Japan has been struggling with the aging of ministers and the lack of young leaders. Churches are without ministers and some are closing down. We want to help you get to Japan and are inviting you, “Come over to Japan and help us.”

Long-Term Program

A Special Call for Long-Term Help

In 2000, the Christian Church/Church of Christ had an active church count of 80 churches in all of Japan. In recent years, the population of Japanese ministers and missionaries is increasingly aging and many churches have closed or have no leadership. The number of churches has dropped to less than 60.

We are praying for long-term missionaries to come and give new life to these struggling churches.

Japan is one of the most expensive countries in the world and we know that raising support to come to Japan is difficult. The Macedonian Project is willing to assist new missionaries with initial fees and language study fees as well as helping them find a place to serve. We will also provide a pre-field training program to get you ready to come.

Long-Term Program (5 years +)

This program will train and guide someone for a longer term of service in Japan and to serve in and/or plant churches. We will assist with language school fees as well as initial costs and housing costs. We will also help with placement in a long-term service.
Amount to raise: $30,000 – $40,000 per year.
